Based on Fuzhou Section of Fuzhou-Yinchuan expressway, studying on the characteristics of vegetation and their effects for eco-environment. The results show that:①The vegetation distribution assumes the north-south region along fuzhou section of Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway, and forest vegetation types are mainly evergreen broadleaved forest, deciduous broadleaved forest, evergreen coniferous forest, conifer and broadleaf mixed forest, bamboo forest, tea and fruit forest, etc. Presently, most of them have evolved into secondary evergreen broad-leaved and plantation due to long-term artificial damage.②The main principles of vegetation planting along fuzhou section of Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway are:local conditions, appropriate due to road system, favored tree for suitable land, reasonable disposition of plants, to satisfy driving requirement. According to their different functions, the various forms of vegetation planting were adopted within the region of central dividing area, roadbed slope, interflowing area, service area, the roadside, etc. But while designed, single planting grass paved was adopted mainly, so the biodiversity is generally low.③The noise pollution during the expressway operation period is produced mainly by the vehicles which were moving on the expressway, and this noise is long-term, greater danger. The acoustic environment situation along fuzhou section of Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway is relatively good, less sensitive environmental objectives, and the environment sensitive objectives noise complied basically with the relevant standards, the site monitoring proved it to be Class 2 standards.④The major air pollution during the expressway operation period is from different types of exhaust which were emissioned by the vehicles which were moving on the expressway, the main air pollutants are NOx, CO, THC, smoke and dust and so on. Ambient air quality along fuzhou section of Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway is well. Monitoring showed, at all the measuring points, the range of standard index of SO2 average hourly maximum concentration is 0.068-0.100 mg/Nm3, NO2 is 0.050-0.075 mg/Nm3, the range of standard index of SO2 average daily maximum concentration is 0.127-0.133 mg/Nm 3, NO2 is 0.067-0.108 mg/Nm 3, PM10 is 0.353-0.713 mg/Nm3, standard index of CO average hourly maximum concentration is 0.125 mg/Nm 3. Concentration of air pollutants from different the points can meet the secondary standard limiting requirements, which was from "Ambient Air Quality Standards".⑤Green belt along the expressway attenuated traffic noise by monitoring and analysis, forest belt density, width, height, size, and length of branches were more effective noise reduction factors than the characteristics of leaves and branches the factors in the different noise canceling forest; Choice and collocation of forest plant species, with the noise canceling is also an important factor. and the utilization of shrubs and trees at one time, that is, shrubs planted in the trees, can make the best noise reduction.
