Research On The Stability Of Spatial Self-organization Process Of Town Cluster In Context Of Planning

The paper is intended to improve the spatial planning of town cluster at rationality and maneuverability based on the research of the stability of its spatial self-organization process. Then it would effectively support the development of new town clusters in China. There are three clues of the paper: Self-organization, Spatial system of town cluster and Spatial planning of town cluster. The paper departs into three components: Epistemology research, Methodology research, Demonstration research, and the demonstration case is Cheng-Yu town cluster.Chapter Two, do research on the three clues horizontally to establish the understanding basis. On the ground of natural philosophy, the paper introduces the self-organization theory and gives its key points. In the field of urban planning, the paper puts forward the recognition of town cluster that its essence is similar as the system of mega-city, and the view that most of Chinese town clusters are being at the low level of self-organization, whose planning should pay the main attention to spatial coordination with promoting the development of system structure.Chapter Three, firstly, make a hub for deeper research at epistemology. The paper shows a epistemological coupling of planning and spatial self-organization system. And then it is being found that planning could only hold the stability to effect on the spatial system and also the spatial self-organization process.Further, the main part of research could go forward.Chapter Three, the paper analyses the stability with the theory of self-organization and the spatial system of town cluster. There are 4 stability expressions of self-organization process: Ordered structure, Repeated fluctuation, Recognition of integrity, On the basis of environment; and 7 corresponding plan objects: Spatial structure, Intension fluctuation, Extension fluctuation, Spatial pattern, Spatial boundary, Ecosystem, Environment of socio-economic development.Chapter Four, based on the plan objects, there are 9 exact plan projects. The paper rearranges the 9 projects into 3 categories, which belong to the Strategic district, the Town cluster district and the Subsystem of town cluster district. Based on the 3 categories, the paper puts forward the planning method system of town cluster. On the other hand, the paper proposes to build a spatial self-organization support mechanism of town cluster, which is carried by the Planning Support System (PSS), to support the planning method system. PSS can give powerful information support to the town cluster planning.Chapter Five, applying the above research result and frame, the paper does demonstration research at the 4 stability expressions of self-organization process of Cheng-Yu town cluster. By taking problem as the direction, the paper finds rational strategies in the process, and then organizes them to be the system of planning. At last, the constructive ideas are focus on the spatial structure which could be departed into 3 Triangles and the spatial communication system which would resolve the problems of polarization development and environmental deterioration, if it is strong enough.
