For the low temperature of mixing and shaping, energy conservation and the protection of the environment, WMA is concerned gradually at home and abroad recent years. Paper compares the current modification mechanism of WMA on the base of analyzing its Usage, then Put forward an idea which can be used for reducing the viscosity of asphalt.First, researcher analyzes the WMA synthesis technology route Comprehensively, the principle and evaluation of optimal design of modified asphalt come out, excellent Tackifier and viscosity reducer are defined. Then the researcher carries out numbers of laboratory tests, optimizes and evaluates kinds of modifiers. The results show that the viscosity modifiers selected are consistent with the intended purpose, belonging to the excellent modifiers,which could guarantee the ultimate synthesis of WMA.Researcher carries the viscosity test with different types of modified asphalt and at different temperatures using the rotational viscometer and viscosity automatic tester, optimizes the modifier composition by comparing characteristics of performance changes before and after modification. Finally, two kinds of WMA are prepared:types of AB and ABC. Then the two full-viscosity asphalt temperature, temperature resistance, low and high temperature performance, adhesion properties and the mixing and shaping temperatures were tested. The results show, the asphalt type of ABC is more excellent than the pure asphalt, it is with the features of the high temperature viscosity reduction, low temperature viscosity increase and improved low temperature performance and so on. WMA test results show that the performance can meet with code requirements,also achieves the desired result.The research results may guide the further development of WMA.
