At present, the reactive power imbalance of low-voltage power network is more and more serious. It not only affects the operating efficiency of equipments, but also the safe operation. At the moment the low-voltage reactive power compensation controller exists many faults such as single compensation goal, unreasonable control strategy, unreasonable switching methods and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to study the reactive power compensation in depth and on the basis of learning from the experience of similar products at home and abroad, the exsiting problems of controller will be solved to improve the reactive power automatic controlling device gradually.This paper made some useful explorations on the use of intelligent control application in reactive power compensation. For the present deficiencies of controlling methods with the practical experience of reactive control, the communication between host computer and subordinate machine is designed firstly to get message and calculate the parameters of grid by means of third-party listening. And then voltage, power factor control of fuzzy inference system is designed, which can reduce efficiently the capacitor switching error probability caused by the small changes of the measured value.According to fuzzy control rules and the MATLAB off-line calculation of the number of segments capacitor switching, the system applies the fuzzy control to accomplish the integrated control of voltage and power factor, which avoids a lot of mathematical calculations, increases the stability of the system, and reduces the number of capacitor action.Based on the above control thought, this paper finally developed a low-voltage reactive power compensation mixing experimental device. The device adopts MODBUS protocol, uses reactive power compensation controller RPC3FSC acquisition phase voltage, current and power factor and other parameters; The host computer fuzzily processes the information sent from the subordinate machine and quickly issues the corresponding command, while the controller implements compensation according to the controlling command sent from the host computer;The hybrid method of compensation:three-phase compensation and split-phase compensation is used to achieve a three-phase unbalanced load reactive power compensation; The combination switch composed of 12 road relaies is used to achieve a composite switching capacitor. The device in practical applications has the following characteristics:non-harmonic, less power consumption, long service life when the capacitor switches.
