In order to overcome defects of the traditional endoscopy, such as bad pain with patients, risk of cross infection and difficulty examination in small intestine. Many countries in the world developed a capsule endoscope system combined with micro-sensor technology, wireless communication technology, bioelectromagnetic technology and clinical medicine research results. Using this intelligent system in gastrointestinal examination, there will be non-invasive, no pain, no cross-infection and so on.With theoretical analysis and experimental research, we designed a wireless capsule endoscopy based on OV6920 image sensor. In this papaer the key technologies such as the electronic, optics, wireless communications, electromagnetic control, power, etc are detailly analyzed. The structure and layout of capsule endoscopy are optimized as well. Finally, we developed a capsule endoscope prototype based on OV6920 image sensor, and did much image acquisition test within and outside an animal body.The capsule endoscope described in this article is synthetically used of geometric optics, precision machinery, electronic circuits and other knowledge. Besides, a large number of experiments have been carried out in order to consummate the system. The main task of this thesis are as followed:1, Describing the working principle of wireless capsule endoscopy, studing the core component-OV6920 CMOS image sensor in detail, analyzing its structure and internal working principle, building a camera module hardware driving circuit and describing the selection of the various components. The diameter of this module is 10mm and minimum power consumption is only 20mW.2, We design the wireless capsule endoscope based OV6920 in detail, including camera modules, lighting circuits, batteries and transmitter module. A major breakthrough about endoscopy prototype has been made in the size and power consumption.3, Expermental study of transmition circuit has been done, and it is optimized in size and power consumption. Wireless transmitter circuit for capsule endoscopy is designed and implemented; the power consumption of the circuit designed with few circuit elements and small in size is only 10mW.4, Summarizing the specification and producting process of capsule endoscopy, then carrying out experments with it, including in vitro and in vivo image acquisition testing in order to verify the capability of this prototype.In this paper, a lot of work about the wireless capsule endoscope MEMS research has been done, but there are still mamy shortcomings to be improved in the future.
