At present, a growing number of diseases of the digestive tract appeared due to food safety problems, so that people pay more attention to physical health. The emergence of wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) has reduced the inconvenience when doctors detect patients with gastrointestinal diseases. As a miniaturized medical device, WCE can make a pain-free, non-invasive detection of gastrointestinal diseases. It has a great research significance.This thesis relies on a comprehensive strategic cooperation project of Guangdong Province and Chinese Academy of Sciences:new capsule endoscopy system with precise positioning and active control.(2009B091300160) to make research on the receiving system of WCE, and on the optimized design of WCE lens based ZEMAX. Completion of the entire system requires the knowledge of embedded circuits, wireless communications, optical design, mechanical design, etc. Our small team achieves all parts of the system with division of labor. My job is to design the hardware and firmware of WCE’s vitro receiver board, and optimize the design of optical lens applicable to our capsule, so as to improve the quality of images WCE collected, and to increase the accuracy of diagnosis of the patient. The main contents and contributions of this dissertation are summarized as follows:1) The WCE’s current development status and research directions were summarized and analyzed, and its research significance was cleared. Taking the existing capsule endoscope as a reference, the overall structure of the capsule endoscope and the appropriate hardware was designed with our own characteristics.2) A design of portable vitro receiving module was put forward based on STM32and nRF24L01, and the hardware and firmware design have been completed. A test had been made on the completed initial system platform to achieve the established functions, and the power consumption of entire system was analyzed.3) The basic theory of optical imaging and optical aberration was analyzed. Taking the OV2640image sensor as a selected target, making use of the optical design software ZEMAX, I completed the optimized design and simulation of the WCE’s optical lens with conventional design method of lens optimization. The simulation results show that the lens has a good performance of imaging quality on our selected image sensor.
