Analysis of fault data is an important basis for power system fault. In order to analyze the fault situation effectively, the massive fault recorder files should be used. By analyzing recording datum, we can understand the cause, the type and the condition of the malfunction accurately and timely, so we can make a decision quickly. Thus, the efficiency can be improved and the fault loss can be reduced. The power fault recording information analyzing method is researched and analyzing system is developed in this paper.First, by studying analyzing method of the power fault recording information, the error caused by the decaying DC component in traditional Fourier algorithm is analyzed, and the accurate expressions of the error is deducted.Therefore, this paper proposes an improved recursive discrete Fourier algorithm which can eliminate the interference of decaying DC component effectively.Then, the fundamental frequency component and each harmonic are estimated by eliminating the error from the result of traditional Fourier algorithm, without calculating the decaying component parameters, and the result has high accuracy. The algorithm is of simple calculation and fast response, and is convenient to be realized. The algorithm is suitable for measuring the fundamental frequency component and each harmonic parameters of fault signal.Second, IEEE Standard Common Format for Transient Data Exchange (CO MTRADE) for Power system is analyzed in this paper. Recording data can be read into program, and the non-standard format of the fault recorder files can be convert into the standard format transformation of COMTRADE.Third, the development of fault recorder and the structure and characteristics of the fault recording information system at home and abroad is investigated in detail. On this basis, the paper makes a design of the overall structure and function for the power fault recording information analyzing system. The system can be divided into three parts by structrue, which is the information acquisition, data communication and fault analysis. The structure and function of the three parts are introduced individually in this chapter.Finally, the power fault recording information analysis systems is designed and developed by Visual C++6.0 platform. The system can reproduce and flexi bly display the waveform of the fault signal, moreover, it has the functions of recording wave file management and fault electrical parameters measurement,har monic analysis, phase analysis and fault signal sequence component analysis.
