Research On Math Lean-Based Styling Design Technology Of Automobile And Process Reconstruction

The research presented in this paper is a part of the "ZhongQi" concept car design project.Automobile is a complicate product which has high level of complexity in technology, multi-process, serial and parallel design flow, relates lots of different domain, and needs a variety of design techniques and the supporting of a large amount of related data. Among the overall automotive development process, styling is one of the most essential key to the birth of a brand new kind of automobile.The styling design of automobile started late in China, lacking of practical experience of self-developed brands and knowledge accumulation, in the same time, the car design process lack the management of its task, concept, theme and styling project. Supporting of technology for concept and product design process is weak, this has became one of the main obstacles for the development of our country's own automobile brand.This thesis mainly addresses the styling design technology and the process reconstruction based on the digital prototype. By analyzing main facts which affect the automobile styling, the paper deconstructed the design process of car styling, it could be divided into different stages with different timing sequence and tasks. Deconstructed the traditional design process according to this definition, then analyzed the technology and work flow of different design stages, after that found out the declines of the process.By analyzing the specific application of digital technology and combining the research of product styling and engineering theories, a new automobile styling design process which is applied to the development of a brand new prototype has been set up. Based on digital prototype, this research found out the entry point of digital technology, replacing the solid model which was widely used in traditional design process to synchronize the design and engineering and to solve the drawbacks in traditional design process.This new work flow has been applied in'ZhongQi'concept car styling design project, validated and improved the design processes which based on digital technology, consummated the application of digital technology in styling design process, finally verified the applicability and feasibility of the theoretical design process.
