Anti-Backlash Double-Roller Enveloping Hourglass Worm Drive is a new kind of anti-backlash worm gear sets. It is applied for the realization of worm-drive with high precision , high efficiency and long life-span of precision in now mechanical transmission field , which has a great application area. This paper investigates the meshing theory, geometry parameter design , structure design , construct three-dimensional solid model , CAM design , kinematical simulation , finite element modal analysis , on the enveloping worm reducer. The content of this research is as follows:Differential geometry and gear meshing, a perfect set of meshing system of the double-roller enveloping hourglass worm gear in an ideal situation are reviewed. We deduced the meshing function of this drive and worm tooth surface equations by applying kinematics method. And then , we build the three-dimensional solid model of gear base on the software of Pro/e. The above working constructs a bridge for further study .Design and assembly of the reducer by the toolbox of SolidWorks is simple, quick and precise. According to the design of enveloping worm reducer , machining technology of the Non-Backlash Double-Roller Enveloping Hourglass Worm reducer box is studied . Using the Mastercam X , CAM of the reducer box is completed .Based on COSMOSMotion simulation software , the kinematical simulation of the non-backlash double-roller enveloping hourglass worm gear is completed . The kinematical parameters of the non-backlash double-roller enveloping hourglass worm gear and rollers are analyzed .The geometry model of the non-backlash double-roller enveloping hourglass worm gear is translated into ANSYS, infinite element model of the worm gear have been constructed. After the mesh of the model had been divided, the contact elements are defined . Meantime, a mesh dividing method, which has high precision and an acceptable calculating scale, is used. The natural frequencies and vibration modes of the reducer of non-backlash double-roller enveloping hourglass worm gear are solved . The results of modal analysis lay a foundation for the design and improvement of the reducer.
