As energy crisis and air pollution become more and more serious, it is very necessary for engine to find the way of sustainable development in motor vehicle industry. Today the change of diesel is quick day by day. At present, the diesel engine fuel injection system has entered the third generation of the electronically controlled fuel injection system—common rail fuel injection system. Now, it is very popular in many other countries, such as Japan, Germany and so on, and the electronically controlled system has come to the application stage, and extended quickly with remarkable benefits.But in our country, the tempo of locomotive engine is very slow, the technology of electronic injection is at the beginning and even common rail system is under research, and the available common rail injection system in our country's engines is import from the foreign. Evidently, it is indispensable to develop electronically controlled technology under the situation, especially the common rail injection system in our country. In this thesis, the principle and history of electronically controlled system of diesel engine are analyzed on the basis of the injection theory of diesel, and what's more, the high-pressure common rail injection system is the emphases.In this thesis, high-pressure common rail injection system as the research object, combine the traditional control theory—PID with the intelligent control—Fuzzy and Artificial Neural Network, the major control strategy of injection quantity, injection timing and rail pressure have been designed after designing of system's control project. The injection quantity, the injection timing and the rail pressure are controlled on the basis of the MAP, and modify by the temperature and the pressure of air in the throttle. Finally, the whole control system adopts the control strategy based on the injection quantity. According to various conditions of the diesel engine, built the simulation model on the Matlab/Simulink and analyzed the result. It is showed that the control strategy achieve the goals of steady rail pressure, precise injection quantity and injection timing, and satisfy the request of rapid staring and stable running.
