Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) generally means the computer aided design and the document formation for the mechanical part's manufacturing process. The Process Planning is the bridge and the link to connect the product design and the product manufacture. It is a significant process of manufacture system, which has the important influence to the product quality and the production cost. The document and correlative data, which are formed in process designing, not only are the basis of manufacture, but also are the source of the foundational information in production management and operating control system. CAPP is the key to linking and really integrating CAD and CAM, and it is one of the important technology basis in CIMS. Therefore, investigating and applying CAPP technology are of great significance.Blade is one of the most important workpieces of aeroengine. In aeroengine, it takes the key pole of energy transfer. Because there are numerous varieties and large quantities of blade and most of production is small and medium batches. If traditional methods were still used for process management, the workload would be very large and annoying. Therefore, it will lead to low efficiency, and virtually increase the production cycle and production costs. In order to achieve aims of reducing the technologist's work intensity, lowering production cost, and increasing productivity, aeroengine blade CAPP system is designed and developed in current work. Group Technology is adopted in the system. Applying existing information to derive the initial scheme of blade process flow, the initial scheme is modified to complete process design according to need. The system can also design blade process flow from scratch.In this paper, the overall plan of CAPP system fitting for aeroengine blades, the technology of process report output and the technology of process drawing formation have been studied. The corresponding overall frame and the systematic control module, process design module, user workaround module, design process management module, process report output module and other function module are constructed. CAPP system that suits the real circumstance of aeroengine blades.have been designed and developed in the present study. At the same time, the total flow of technical files from derivation, design, auditing to pigeonholing have been realized in this system.The characteristic of data structure in CAPP system, and the data model and the method of database construction have been studied. With the help of analyzing the relationship between process data and process design, this paper brings forward Relating model, Hierarchy model, Netted model and Oriented Object model. After comparing the advantages and disadvantages of those data models, it is more reasonable to choose Relating model for the system. This system used the Microsoft SQL Server to establish database. According to the system function request, we have constructed the process resources database, process database, user database and such kinds of necessary databases.This system takes the relating database, SQL Server 2000, as the background server database and Visual Basic 6.0 as foreground developing tool of database. And it develops client software with C/S mode because this mode is interactive and transplantable and simplifies the operation greatly. The system adopts ADO data access technology that is more popular currently. And having the fields and operations of tables in database packaged to class, object-oriented programming (OPP) is applied successfully in design of database application. The structure is reasonable and it has friendly user interfaces, which meets the requirements of the CAPP system.
