Heart disease has become one of the major diseases which endanger human health. Electrocardiogram (ECG) can fully reflect the health status of the heart, so it has become the primary means of diagnosing heart diseases.The usual diagnostic ECG machine can only diagnose normal heart diseases for getting a very short period of ECG. It is basically powerless for episodic disorders. ECG monitor can be used in the hospital ward as the patients could be in a quiet state for a prolonged period of ECG monitoring, but limits the patient's activities. For some patients who have only got heart rate disorders in the dynamic, it will be unable to capture. Ambulatory ECG (Holter) system can get a long continuous record of the patient ECG dynamic information, but can not achieve real-time analysis capabilities. In addition, for most people whose heart attack is often short and random, it is difficult to promptly rush to the hospital to get the electrocardiography, thus they can not get the diagnosis. It has a very important practical significance and applicable value to extend the ECG monitoring from hospitals and wards to communities and families, just as the heart attack has a great chance and sudden-onset, So we will make the ECG monitoring instruments small, family-oriented, wireless, intelligent, networked by using the current network technology and communications technology to carry out the remote dynamic real-time monitoring on heart attack patients. It will alleviate the financial burden of patients and improve the ability of early prevention of the disease and enhance diagnostic accuracy, as well as enhance service capabilities of the hospital.In this paper, we develop a new portable far-distance ECG monitoring system by using 8-bit microprocessor ATmega16 as the master controller chip. The system includes two main functional modules: Portable far-distance ECG monitor and the Hospital Center monitoring stations. ECG monitor worn on a patient can collect ECG signal, pre-amplify and filter on AD620 instrument amplifier chips, use microcontroller for AD coversion, use liquid crystal to display ECG waveform, and store 1 hour ECG signal .Meanwhile it can transmit the ECG signal collected to the home computer through the wireless transceiver module PTR8000. The ECG signal of digital format can be transmitted to the Hospital Center monitoring station on the Internet by using the home computer as a terminal. Being monitored by a special doctor, the patient can get far-distance real-time monitoring at home. When going out, the ECG information on GPRS communication module SIM300 can be sent to designated hospitals and Monitoring Center through the GPRS network and the Internet network, thus the ECG monitoring function will be extended to any corner where the cell phone signal is.Hospital Center monitoring stations can realize receiving ECG signal, showing ECG by using the computers as a central processor .we write the monitoring stations and home terminal operation interface with the virtual instrument language——LabVIEW.This paper complete the design of the software and hardware of the portable far-distance dynamic real-time monitoring system. After our testing, the system can monitor the ECG of the wears correctly, which has proved as a fact that it is feasible to establish the patient's monitoring system on line widely.
