Project management is the management systems designed to achieve the specific goals, which is used by the members of the project to dope out the plan, provide with human resouces and other resouces to carry out the plan and control the cost and quality of the project.Presently, most of projects involve large scale, long construction period, complicate technology, construction risk, and many other conditional factors. Especially for a new project, it is more complicated and uncertain, because it is restrained by the natural environment, experience of the builders, the constuction equipments and the social environment. The implementation of the non-conventional metal structure project involves high risks. Planning management, quality management and risk management are the important parts of the project management. They are the keys to achieving the goals of project management.As an non-conventional mental structure technology project, its innovation, risk diversity and the complicated process make it necessary for us to research. At the same time, our research will be tough with these factors.At the first, this thesis introduces the reason of choosing the topic and the research status and prospects on project management both at home and abroad; then elaborates on the features of the risk of the metal structure technology project. Then, by using the theory and methods of the risk management, this thesis systematically and roundly studies the process of the risk management in implementing phase of the mental structure technology project. Several methods of quantitative analysis about the system engineering are applied to do research on experimental data. This thesis discovers problems and analyses problems from both successful cases and unsuccessful cases of forecasting and decision for science and technology, then summarize the general characters.Aiming to research a new way of risk management in the area of mental structure technology in hydroelectric power industry, the last part of this thesis describes and analyzes the case of Gou Pi Tang hydroelectric project in Guizhou province, which expects to upgrade the project management and enhance the competitiveness in the market.
