China ranks on the third place in the shipbuilding industry, just right after Japan and Korea. The technology of our country's shipbuilding pursues a more modern pattern. To increase the efficiency and survive in the fierce competition, higher standard of production planning and spatial allocation for shipbuilding is necessary and urgent. The building of curved blocks is the bottleneck to improve the efficiency of shipbuilding, so studying on the curved blocks'workshop is the key breakthrough to higher shipbuilding productivity.Studying on the scheduling of building curved blocks, this paper analyzes the spatial scheduling problem in the production of curved blocks. The standard description of this kind of problem and its mathematic model are also given. After understanding all the subjects and objects of this problem, a heuristics algorithm is designed to solve this spatial scheduling problem based on the two-phase method and space searching algorithm. An algorithm is also designed to adjust the scheduling during the building process due to some exceptions. At last, the scheduling module and adjustment module are designed and developed. The main contents and achievements of this study are mainly like bellows:Firstly, studying on the existing methods of scheduling, analyzing all kinds of the subjects and objects of scheduling for the building of curved blocks, standard description and the mathematic model of this spatial scheduling problem are given;Secondly, analyzing this spatial scheduling problem, a heuristics algorithm which based on the two-phase method and space searching algorithm is designed. An evaluation model to assess this algorithm is also given;Thirdly, studying on all kinds of exceptions that might occur during the production, analyzing their effects to the implementation of scheduling plan, an algorithm for adjusting the scheduling is given and its evaluation model is also designed to assess this algorithm's validity;Fourthly, an example of using the scheduling and adjustment algorithms is given to prove their validities. All the data used in this example are coming from a real shipbuilding company which locates in Shanghai;At last, the modules of scheduling and adjustment are developed by using Visual C# and Sql Server. Some assistant modules used to input data and show the results are also designed.Spatial scheduling and adjustment algorithms oriented on building curved blocks in shipbuilding can be extended to painting workshop and others. In addition, it has good prospect of application in large-scale, heavy one-of-a-kind production such as the airplane, the bridge and so on.
