Since 2000, The Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China has launched the Clean Vehicle Action Plan and High Technology Development Program (863) major scientific and projects on Special Electric Vehicles, has greatly promoted China's automakers independent research and development of new energy vehicles, while further industry turned into preparations for the new energy Automotive Technology to develop standards and regulations put forward new demands. For this reason, the study of fuel cell vehicle propulsion performance, fuel economy, reliability and test methods is of very practical significance.In this thesis, brief background and fundamentals of fuel cell vehicles, fuel cell vehicle characteristics and types of fuel cell vehicles are introduced, including national and international standards and related conditions.According to relevant technical materials approaches for deter-mination of fuel cell vehicle performance indeces to make a fuel cell vehicle powertrain selection. In the theoretical calculations and engineering analysis, key parameters of the fuel cell, lithium-ion batteries, motors and drive train components are studed for a system match, in the case that the power capability and fuel economy can match the technical requirements.Various components of powertrain operating principle and characteristics are investigated by use of simulation software ADVISOR. In comparison of simulation results under different conditions with real vehicle test results, it is indicated that the model can reflect the performance characteristics of fuel cell vehicles, and the vehicle's power and economy can meet pre-defined technical goals.Model tests of fuel cell vehicles are performed for writing up evaluation the test standards for the vehicle power performance studying and formulating Fuel Cell Vehicle the Maximum Speed Test Method draft.
