With the vibration problem of the diesel engine locomotive get more and more serious in recent years, the vibrant state of diesel locomotive at null position is always drawn our attention during the locomotive production and acceptance process, especially during locomotive tests. The vibration problem now is a constant quality issue. There are big vibration frequently occurred in the locomotives of DF4, DF8, DF11, DF11G and DF8B when they have the locomotive tests. Every time when try to remove the vibration problem, we need to reassemble the main generator-diesel generating set or replace flexible coupling or inspect the rubber bearing sometime even refix engine, which involving a lot of increased production cost such as labor force and material . If a vibration research is carried out in terms of innovation of upstream process, it will reduce the vibration condition before locomotive tests. If system analysis and simulation are carried out when the vibration problem occurs during locomotive tests, it will only take relative shorter time and lower production cost to deal with the vibration problem.This paper will analysis the dynamic balance of the rotor in the main generator motor to find the corresponding relationship with the flexible coupling of main generator– diesel engine set. Meanwhile, through establishing the Pro/E three-dimensional relevant models for diesel crankshaft, flexible coupling, and main generator rotor, simulation analysis is carried out after incorporating above models into ADAMS about the relationship between main generator rotor dynamic balance and main generator–diesel engine set vibration. It provides an effective manner to solve the vibration problem through establishing the function among the position and quantity of dynamic balance of rotor in the main generator and the engine vibration, and simulating the main generator–diesel engine set vibration amplitude, then verifying it in the actual condition.
