The pavements in the loess area are seriously unstable due to the Collapsibility of the loess which increases the difficulty in the construction of bituminous roads in loess area. Most of Shan'xi province is located in the loess area and the roads built on the loess areas are most in quantities in China. In recent years, the bituminous roads in the loess area in this province have appeared a large number of diseases. According to these serious damages, related research has been carried out and a certain length of the text road has also been constructed, through which the detailed first-hand and information-rich can be obtained and a theoretical basis and practical support for the construction of bituminous roads of Shan'xi province and the whole country.Firstly, a destination of three typical high ways in loess area in Shan'xi province has been made in my paper. The destination has made a conclusion of the features of the bituminous roads and types of damages in loess area according to the practical situation and made a deep analysis of the causes of damages from the perspectives of design and construction; furthermore, it has generalized compositional types of typical roads and the successful experience of bituminous roads built in loess area in Shan'xi province. Basing on these study and large quantities of interior experiments, a further study also has been made for the shan xi loess area construction of bituminous roads of design porosity specification,slowing down asphalt pavement Reflective cracking prevention, and a test road built on the basis of interior experiment will be a further proof for my study.In short, basing on the investigation,the study has offered respectively appropriate requirements of porosity and practical measures prevention of reftective crack for bituminous roads according to the results of lots of interior experiments. Supported by these studys, a test road has been built. Through regular site visits and testing, this paper optimizes the bituminous roads structures for loess roadbed of specific area based on the data analysis, and recommend the appropriate construction technology, which has great theoretical and practical significance.
