By the restrictions of Laos national environmental, economic and technological level, Laos have less high-grade road and no construction of highways, the project construction experience mainly rely on the experience of other countries' Technology. Domestic technical specifications are only simple direct reference, whether it adapt to conditions in Laos was not conducted research, thus, the domestic independent research road is lack of experience and technical; With the increased of traffic and the elevated level of user requirements, it is necessary to research the highway pavement construction technology which apply to a specific environment of Laos highway, and provide technical support for the future of Laos highway construction.Based on the methods of the United States SHRP and China Climate Division, consideration of the Laos specific climatic conditions, This article proposes climate partition Method based on Humid-heat partition coefficient, and Implements it on the representative provinces of Laos; under The climate partition results, applicable to selection methods and Laos asphalt pavement performance indicators proposed; Through Laos to investigate asphalt and aggregate, and combined domestic and international experience and the actual situation in Laos, made the technical requirements of Aggregate and asphalt; according to the Lao rainy weather, asphalt pavement must have a good performance to resistance to water damage, In this paper, the three of 72h residual stability test, two freeze-thaw and freeze-thaw cycle split splitting strength test are used to evaluate the resistance to water damage of asphalt mixture; asphalt pavement construction by the Chinese technical specification of the AC-13 gradation asphalt mixture in the values Asphalt Mixture design, research aggregate ratio, porosity, and lime powder on the performance of asphalt mixtures, and propose void index requirements in different climatic zones, and further recommended the volume index requirements of asphalt mixture design.
