New characteristics appeared in Extra-high Voltage Transmission Line protection because of high voltage class, large power supply and high reliability needs. Fiber-optic relay protection is a new relay protection system which can completely meet the requirement of rapid fault clearing for lines. Fiber-optic relay protection represented by RCS-931 is quite different from traditional one in structure of channel, coding method, transmitting way, and it's protection principle, working mode, protection criterion also differ a lot from the old line protection.In the practice, the usage and the maintenance of the microcomputer Protection are in very low level because of its complexity. One important reason is that, the relay protection workers lack of comprehensive study and training about microcomputer protection's working principle, software/hardware structure, system function, testing and maintenance method. The developing of microcomputer protection training system is beneficial to the quick improvement of worker's quality, and then ensure the security and the reliability of the power network's operation.This paper has conducted massive and thorough analysis and research in Extra-high Voltage Microcomputer Protection,and poposed the general designing thought and the fuctional realization methond of 500kV Line Microcomputer Protection Remote Training System.The training system is based on RCS-931/RCS-925/RCS-902, including two interdependent systems---the extra-high voltage transmission line protection multi-media coursewares and simulational flat roof. The forme includes the brief introduction of Fiber-optic relay protection and the exploration of the extra-high voltage microcomputer protection's principle, composition, operation and debugging. And the simulational system includes the extra-high voltage transmission line protection simulation training system about dynamic simulation platform and protection test platform.The paper takes full advantage of computer technology ,using general software as source material tool, and accomplish the manufacture and design of this 500kV Line Microcomputer Protection Remote Training System which is based on multimedia technology. The training system is published in network so that the students can surf on the internet in anywhere and at anytime when using it for training, studying, simulation or testing.Along with the unceasing expansion of the electrical network scale and the rapid development of the rely protection technology, rely protection training system will have broader development space. And the training system will be more and more popular in power industry.
