Along with the world economic development to energy consumption demand, the exploitation of renewable energy has been paid more and more attention in recent years.As a clean and sustainable supply'green energy'in renewable energy, the wind power generation has already become the maturest renewable energy power technology after the hydro-electric power.Adopted wind power generation system based on matrix converter (MC) and brushless doubly-fed machine (BDFM) is a kind of ideal variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) project. BDFM as a new motor, no brushes and slip rings, structure simple and firm reliable, has two sets of winding on the stator side, the power winding and the control winding, can flexiblely control the active and reactive power. MC is a kind of new transducer, adopts controlled power switch device, the main circuit topology is simple, without the DC part and possesses the capability of bi-directional power flow, and its output waveform is completely dependent on high-frequency chopper modulation generation, can realize rectification, inversion, frequency conversion and other power transformation function, and also sends out the reactive power combine with detection and control technology, can be used for reactive compensation and power factor correction. So MC is quite fit for constituting VSCF wind power generation system combining with BDFM.The paper research on matrix converter's topological structure, bi-directional switch constitution, mathematical model and other basic principle, elaborated matrix converter's key question lies in control method and four steps communication strategy. Analysis and research focus on quite simple, easy direct transfer function method and application quite widespread double voltage control method, for these two control algorithms used in matrix converter's simulation model are established with Matlab/Simulink software. Under normal and abnormal conditions, the double voltage control method is analyzed in detail, the simulation result has confirmed the theoretical analysis accuracy, laid the theoretical foundation for the following experiment verification. According to BDFM's basic structure, principle and rotor speed dq coordinate system's mathematical model, analyzed the principle and characteristics of brushless doubly-fed wind power generation system to achieve VSCF wind power generation based on MC, and confirmed the system to realize VSCF control accuracy through simulation analysis.Based on the theoretically study work, the hardware design has further consummated, has constructed 5KW matrix converter experiment system based on TMS320LF2407 digital signal processor and the EPM7128 complex programmable logic component as the master control component. Used C language and ASM language to carry on DSP software algorithm design, has realized direct transfer function method and double voltage control method idling and load experiment through debugging. The experiment result indicate that MC experiment system structure design is feasible and correct, lay an experimental basis for matrix converter applied in brushless doubly-fed wind power generation system.The research work has been supported by the key project of national natural science foundation.
