The study on brushless doubly-fed generation system is a promising development in varible-speed and constant-frequency(VSCF) system. The generator, as the key part of wind power generation system, plays very important role, and its performances directly affect the efficiency and quality of the whole system. Obviously, the study on generator is of significance.As a sort of brushless doubly-fed generators, the cascade brushless doubly-fed machine is worthy to be investigated because of its unique characteristic. Basically, this kind of machine was studied as a motor. This thesis pays specific attention to its application for wind power generation. The structure and principle of the cascade brushless doubly-fed generator are introduced and the mathematical model under rotor reference frame(d-q axis) is derived .
