Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) combines the advantages of the traditional fuel vehicle and pure Electric Vehicle (EV). It uses internal combustion engines and motor as power source. At the same time, the characteristics of low pollution and low fuel consumption makes it to be a feasible solution of solving the energy crisis and environmental protection problem.Being a main department of HEV, Motor driving system plays an important part in HEV development. In this paper, HEV motor drive system has been studied. In this thesis, the main research work focus on HEV with permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) vector control system. Based on the mathematical model of PMSM and combined the HEV motor drive system requirements, then maximum torque/current control and flux-weakening control have been proposed. While the car is starting, accelerating and climbing, the maximum torque/current control strategies have been used in order to meet the output requirements of a large torque. When the car has a high-speed or overtake, flux-weakening control has been used to meet the HEV's output requirement of high power at high speed.A High efficiency PMSM and a good control system are the key technology of HEV.In this paper, the main chip of this drive system is TMS320F2812. Because of its powerful function, plenty of I/O,and support of the CAN communication which is widely used in automotive electronic control.,So this type of chip is very suitable for real-time control of HEV. This paper studies the powertrain control system of HEV and has built a hardware system. It has also designed a CAN bus module, serial communication module, etc. Finally, the hybrid electric vehicle motor drive system hardware, software, processes and experimental data have been obtain. We can see the drive system is reasonable from the data of this experiment. It basically meets the requirements of the HEV's drive system.
