In this paper, literature at home and abroad on development of air-conditioning cooling load calculation is studied carefully. Cooling load calculation problems in air-conditioning design in China are analyzed, as well as researches in this field finished by scholars. As current load calculation problems, building model of load calculation is improved and analyzed. In this paper, buildings are considered as a whole and load calculation of building envelopes is studied importantly, eliminating the complexity of load calculation one by one in common software, while avoiding the large estimated error in the method of cooling load indicator. Based on the improved building model, cooling load amending coefficient is proposed. It's just to say that the total building envelope cooling load can be calculated while cooling load amending coefficient multiplied by the cooling load of building envelopes.In this paper, according to a simplified buildings model, cooling load factors method for the theoretical basis, fast calculation software of cooling load is compiled by Access and VBA program. The software contains enough results and wide range of application. Based on cooling load fast calculation software, conventional cooling load calculation methods, Dest and Hongye software, the peak and the phase of cooling load curves are compared, the data error is analyzed, and cooling load fast calculation software is proved to be accurate and feasible. At the same time, influence of heat transfer coefficient of building envelopes, the ratio of wall and window, as well as Shape coefficient, on the cooling load of building envelope has been analyzed by the software, which proves its functional integrity.Finally, the simplification idea above has been adapted to calculation of heat load and hot water load. Especially, "system of fast calculation of load and optimized selection of air-conditioning heating and cooling source" software has been compiled, which is a set of overall system from load calculation to optimized selection of cooling and heating source, comprising of heat load calculation, hot water load calculation, fast calculation software of cooling load, optimized selection of cooling and heating source based on exergy efficiency.
