In the process of energy efficiency, the energy consumption of the residential buildings is the important constitution of the civilian building's energy consumption, and the proportion will increase more and more quickly. However, in China, the underway time of building energy efficiency is later than the developed country, so the regulations and application of building's energy technology has a long way to catch up with the developed country. Xi'an located in cold regions, has typical feature in Northern region. Heating schedules time reaches 121 days, heating energy has large proportion in the general energy consumption. A large number of energy simulations and designs are carried out in a new residential building. In the promise of building energy efficiency, the action of shape coefficient, area ratio of window to wall, heat-transfer coefficient of window and wall, solar radiation for heating energy consumption are discussed in this paper.By using the DeST software, the rule of shape coefficient is discussed. For the different shape of building, the relation of energy consumption with shape coefficient is researched, and tow kind of coefficient of long and width will be suitable for Xi'an region, which are 1:1 and 1:3. Through researched different window-wall ratio, it finds that the energy consumption of south room is half of north room by the solar radiation. Furthermore, find that in the different thickness of heat retention lagging, the important of wall and window will change. At same times, the best thickness for economy is researched and 40mm thickness is best in Xi'an region.All data of simulation is analyzed in paper, the relation between the energy consumption and every factor is figured with mathematical equation. The useable consultative data and energy consumption system for the residential buildings in cold area was obtained in this paper, and then promote energy saving.
