As a main part of the car, auto body is jointed and assembled by hundreds of sheet metals through a series of process such as stamping and welding. Its manufacturing quality has the most important influence on car's quality and salability. In order to meet the requirement of competition, improve the product quality, shorten the R&D periods, the research on manufacturing quality control method of auto body has already been done continually by domestic and foreign manufactures and researchers. Based on these, we have also studied on the manufacturing process and the method of dimension quality control to improve the quality of auto body manufacturing dimension effectively, and a special auto-body manufacturing quality control system with "Three levels and two methods" has been proposed."Three levels" refers to three stages in body manufacturing, that is from parts, subassemblies to assembly. According to the characteristic of each level, the quality control system of parts, subassemblies, and assembly is formed."Two methods" refers to the methods about the manufacturing process and equipment examination and maintenance in the first two levels, and the other methods in the third level about measuring and controlling, mainly focusing on the data used to analyze where the problem is.Besides, the application of this system in Haima Automobile Company was analyzed. The results shows that the system is practicable, and the problem has been solved successfullyThe auto body manufacturing quality control system in this paper is based on the integration with stamping, welding and measurement. With the prominent advantages of good adaptability and reliability, the method will promote the technical improvement of auto body manufacturing quality control.
