At present, with the development of cities in our country, more and more urban problems have been given rise to. The city color is the one of them and also the one which is difficult to control. The planning and design of city color has become the urgent problems in city construction.In this background, starting from the point of color, the artical research the city colourscape in the complex system of city, and analysis the city colourscape with the object of Hefei.This paper is divided into six parts:Part I introduces the background, purpose and significance, the focus and scope of the research and defined interrelated concepts.
