In recent world, facing the two fundamental problems of energy crisis and environmental pollution, hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) are increasingly under the spotlight for its characteristic of environmental protection and energy-saving features. In the case of urban public traffic congestion, buses have to drive slowly and stop from time to time. With its advantages, the hybrid system is able to solve the above two issues perfectly, while the traditional internal combustion engine vehicles are poor in fuel consumption and emissions.As the researching object, the traditional bus 6120 in urban public transport systems is converted into a hybrid city bus in this paper. Focusing on the development of multi-energy control strategy, this paper mainly includes the following contents:Firstly, based on operating characteristics of city bus, the paper makes a comprehensive comparison of three different power-driven mode hybrid systems , determines that a hybrid city bus should use Parallel Drive System ,and then conduct for system model selection and parameter matching of all components of the power.Secondly, by analyzing the characteristics of the vehicle power system,a backward simulation model of vehicle is set up in the MATLAB∕ Simulink∕ Advisor platform ,including the engine through the study of vehicle dynamic system characteristics, motor, super capacitors, transmission and automobile driving dynamics model, to provide the necessary simulation platform for the research and development of multi-energy control strategy.Thirdly, the rule-based multi-energy control strategy for Hybrid Electric Vehicle is established, the corresponding logic control rules are formulated, and model in the finite state machine Stateflow according to the rules. Then it is embedded into the Advisor vehicle simulation model.Finally, conduct a simulation according to the established Advisor vehicle simulation model and conduct prototype testing, research and analysis through the simulation results and prototype test results. The results show that the established vehicle model has practical value. Carrying the designed multi-energy control strategy, the vehicle has good power performance and fuel economy, meet the design requirements. And it verifies the rationality and feasibility of the parameters match and the design of control strategies.
