The phenomenon of water pollution in Hefei is serious; some of the rivers even belong to the national standards poor five kind of water. In recent years, with the rate of urbanization continues to accelerate, the rapid expansion of city size, contradiction between the city's water supply and demand further exacerbated, the water environment pressure is also getting bigger and bigger. Hefei is located in the central region of China, multi-mean annual precipitation is about 1000mm, and rainwater is rich in resources with the conditions for rainwater utilization. The rational use of rainwater and reclaimed water can effectively ease the growing tension in Hefei available water.This paper pointed out that the current buildings and communities rainwater utilization problems in the calculation, the design flow of rain water can be calculated according to rain water collection intensity and loss intensity on catchment area during runoff producing,the regulation and storage size rain of rainwater utilization can be determined by daily water balance method, the calculation of infiltration facilities in partial articles has been corrected,the reclaimed water treatment technology and the existing problems for buildings and communities can be summarized and analyzed, the method of calculating the cost of economic indicators in rainwater and reclaimed water has been proposed, the economic analysis of projects in the major indicators of the profitability of the practice of computing has been changed, the indirect benefit quantification has been realized. Based on t he eight years rainfall information and principle of the row of rain water designed discharge is not bigger than the development construction before rainwater utilization, According to the benefit-cost ratio biggest, take rain water utilization of school, residential, office building in Hefei as examples has been calculated and analyzed. Finally, some suggestions for rainwater utilization in city are put forward, practical frames of reference are provided for planning and management department for approval of project.
