With the rapid development of electricity industry, a lot of electric meters used to measure spring up. But the current level of automatic management in electric network is low in China. Especially in many residential areas, it still uses the traditional ways to copy the data, thus it not only has low efficiency, many errors, but also wastes too many human and material resources. Along with network technology development, we believe it necessary to make adjustment to meter reading system.In this paper, a three-phase electricity acquisition system based on the Ethernet is presented. By using an ADE7758 to electric gathering and adopting an MC68HC11A8 to data processing, it can transmit real-time measured volume of various electric quantities from SPI. By using Ethernet controller ENC28J60, it can realize Ethernet communication and power centralized management on upper computer.At first, this paper gives a general summary of the developmental process, technique characteristics, and developmental direction of electric meter. Secondly, it focuses on the characteristic of each chip in this new system. It introduces the hardware circuit and software design. Finally, it analyses how to condense the TCP/IP protocol and makes simple introduction to the management software in upper computer.
