As the water supply sector pushs ahead a table being a renovation project and automation isapplied more and more widely, remote meter reading system has become indispensable part oftap water automatic management. It can not only ease the labor intensity of meter readingpersonnel, reduce the errors caused by human factors, but also has high speed, good real-timeperformace and other advantages. This topic researches and designs of a remote meter readingsystem based on Ethernet transmission which is for office building and intelligent community,with its rich cyber source, combining with the current network technology and the short distanceradio communication technology. It can solve the routing problem in complex environment andhas certain guiding sense for automatic meter reading field in the future research anddevelopment.This paper introduces the technical requirement of remote meter reading system technology,and chooses the water flow sensor based on the pluse sender after analyzing the water signalconversion method. By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various means ofcommunication, it establishes the remote meter reading system which is composed of intelligentwater meter, concertrating device and server host by introducing the short distance RFtechnology and Ethernet communication technology. Intelligent water meter is mainlyresponsible for the acquisition of water signal and RF transceiver. According to systemrequirements, centralized device as a gateway to connect RF network with Ethernet, has screenedand streamlined the TCP/IP protocol, completed the corresponding protocol of transplantation,including ARP protocol, IP protocol and TCP protocol. In order to avoid interference with otherradio frequency transceiver process frequency band signal, a hopping mechanism is proposedaccording to the characteristics of nRF24L01with optional125working channels, in order toimprove the anti-interference ability of the system. The server station uses the B/S/S structureand uses the development technology of PHP dynamic webpage to create a Web server anddatabase under the WAMP5integrated development environment, finally realizes the interactionbetween Web browser and database.According to the Ethernet remote meter reading system functional requirements, the systemhardware circuit is designed, which includes the MSP430minimum system circuit, waterinformation acquision circuit, RF communication circuit,Ethernet communication circuit,real-time clock circuit, data storage circuit, display circuit and power supply circuit, and thecorresponding software is designed. Finally does the module test and the overall machine test.The test result shows that the system can accurately collect water flow, wireless communicationand Ethernet communication is stable and reliable. The operation effect of the whole system isgood and in accordance with this topic design requirements.
