Oil mist lubricating technology is being widely used in industrial fields as a kind of concentrative lubricating method. Therefore, relative study is imperative to be deepened due to the underdeveloped researches and applications. Experiments and theory exploration are both carried on in this paper owing to the deficiency in the application of condensing principle.A model of collision and coalescence between two oil mist droplets based on Svendsen & Luo's model for the approach process is established. The most decisive two factors influencei-ng droplets'coalescence are flowing boundary and droplets collision velocity. Corresponding-ly, a test desk is constructed to study the two aspects. The final conclusion obtained through analysis of experimental data is stated as follow:(1) It could be concluded that Structural parameters exert great influence on coalescence through the study of the relationship between flowing boundary and coalescence. Optimum diameter of the orifice is in the range of 1.0mm-1.4mm. For long orifice respectively, the performance of condensing will decline with the increase of its length; coalescence would maintain stable even if orifice is extended longer; the influence on coalescence is different due to the change of boundary shape.(2) According to study about the relationship between droplets' collision and coalescence in this paper, the average parameter of droplets turns to be bigger and the percentage of bigger droplets is correspondingly enhanced when We=0.0167 and 5.45-75.1. This phenomenon demonstrates that coalescence occurs after collision. When We=0.0347-1.97, no change could be found about the droplets'parameter, and rebounding takes place after the collision. When We>245, that parameter dramatically diminishes could improve the We value augments with the raise of droplets'velocity and droplets finally rupture at a certain threshold. To sum up from the experiment, We=0.0167and We=5.45-75.1 might ensure the coalescence.
