Model-based design methodology is widely deployed in the design of embedded systems. Validating the correctness of the models and generated embedded code is one of the urgent problems needed to be solved. Based on platform-based design methodology, an embedded simulation platform for autonomous vehicles is introduced in this paper. The embedded simulation platform can be used for modeling complex real-time control systems. Furthermore, by using the different compound mode of platform element for software and hardware, embedded code can be generated automatically and the real-time control system can be implemented and validated with various granularities via the use of X in the loop simulation, including model in the loop simulation, software in the loop simulation, and hardware in the loop simulation. The platform proposed for embedded real-time control system development and design of the model and the model testing in an integration environment. Compared with the traditional embedded system development way with hand-code, not only shorten the development cycle to improve the system the development efficiency, and reduces the code error rate, and enhance the system's migration and reuse rate.To research the embedded control system in heterogeneous system modeling environment, a platform extension for the heterogeneous system of the embedded system simulation platform is proposed. Through introducing the model transformation tool chain for different modeling environment in platform to realize automatic conversing from control system model to the heterogeneous system modeling environment. The automatic conversion between the system models built in the different modeling environment can be realized by applying this model transformation tool chain in the platform. And so the analysis and research of different directions for the embedded system under different environment can be realized. At the same time, avoid duplication of system and maximum use of the system model.By using the model transformation tool chain for different modeling environment, the Simulink model of the system can be converted to the Ptolemyâ…¡model to do the analysis and research of the embedded system in the heterogeneous modeling environment, which is open and can be configured. Using the code generation function of the Ptolemyâ…¡, which is a heterogeneous system modeling environment, the simulation code can be automatic generated and the hardware in the loop simulation experiment for the embedded system can be realized in the extension platform. The experiment provides the basis for the development and expansion of the platform.
