Vibration is an inherent characteristic of rotating equipment .There is a large number of status information from vibration signals of rotating machine. The machine faults can be found and the status of machine can be understood by the analysis of vibration signals, to take timely measures to avoid accidents.Moment of inertia and other characteristic parameters of cylinder, which is main rotating component of carding machine, are calculated and analyzed in the beginning part of the issue. The results could show that carding machine is a typical kind of large-inertia rotating equipment, and vibration is one of main operating condition characteristics of carding machine.Then, a set of real-time application on-site data acquisition system was developed in this paper, using MC56F8346 as the core. The system takes full advantage of DSP and peripheral modules SPI. The issue proposed a means of data transmission with SPI, and chose digital acceleration sensor KXP74-1050 for the acquisition equipment .The system with three control lines, which consists of MC56F8346 and KXP74-1050, has simple structure, high transmission efficiency and good anti-interference advantages. Meanwhile, the issue compiled the program for vibration data acquisition on CodeWarrior and Process Expert software, and designed SPI master module and bit-operation module, to complete the communication between the master MC56F8346 and the slave KXP74-1050.The means of CodeWarrior and modular programming can ensure development of the program fast and efficient.A large-inertia rotating equipment-carding machine was chosen as the object in the issue. After collecting many datum about the carding machine in the field, vibration conditions of the process of starting, running and stopping of the carding machine were analyzed and diagnosed in the issue, according to the prepared research program, especially the cylinder vibration. The analysis and research results showed that: The reasons that the vibration is out of limits are dynamic unbalance, resonant vibration caused by rotation, bearing in poor quality frame stiffness, etc.
