At present,Construction of bridge substructure mostly use deep caisson, no-bottom steel boxed cofferdam methods or bottomed steel boxed cofferdam methods. Deep Caisson decentralization process is cumbersome, influenced deeply by the geological conditions, with large amount usage of material; no-bottom steel boxed cofferdam is primarily used for embedded deep water base; bottomed steel boxed cofferdam's process is simple, saving construction period, some materials can be recycled, which is widely used at present. Steel boxed cofferdam process has good integrity and reliable waterproof and can be reused block assembly. Compared with the Debris cofferdam works, it not only saves the amount work of filling, but also reduces the pollution of rivers and the number of base digging. The third section of Qingdao Gulf Bridge contract is the first Sea Interchange in the North, it has a total number of 197 deepwater constructured pile cap.How to use of innovative steel boxed cofferdam construction Cases to reduce traditional waste of steel materials and the underwater construction operation becomes a major technical problems,which is placed in front of workers.Therefore, Based on full knowledge of natural geological conditions in locations, Island cofferdam construction, steel sheet pile cofferdam and boxed cofferdam were analyzed and compared in this article, discussing three methods for the project type, highlighting the bottomed boxes construction technology, going through the checking on theforces and structure in the different conditions, to selecte boxes cofferdam. Removable bottom set single-wall steel cofferdam method has the following advantages: 1, Floor is lifted by both sides and hanging point is not set within the floor. Floor steel is produced in block, with no welding, removingl easily and floor steel may use for more times; 2, Steel frame is embedded in back coverable concrete. Steel is welded to the casing. increasing the cohesive force between back concrete and the casing .The coverable depth will be reduced from 1.6m to 1.0m. 3, bottom and sides are connected by interlocking angle, Both sides are connected by the long rod bolts with large spacing, which reduces the underwater operation with simple construction and low costs.
