High-rise tower complex structure,with unique architectural appearance, It is flexible to arrange the structures and it meets the needs of contemporary urban development, particularly popular in recent years by the engineering sector. Although theories and design methods of high-rise tower structure were studied, the seismic response characteristics need further investigation. the heshi pagoda of Famen TemPle which used two broken cylinders as main component,is a typical high-rise tower complex structure.This paper research seismic response of tower structures by SAP2000, and make recommendations on seismic design of high-rise tower structure,which has important theoretical and practical engineering applications.the 3-D phistieated finite element model of overall structure were established, whose calculation models are set up according to the actual size of the strueture. two kinds of materials on the steel and concrete constitutive model were selected. Tower structure by modal analysis, show that the low performance of the overall vibration mode, higher modes appear in some sub-structure along the vibration in different ways, the proposed combination of the number of modes should take more than 9 times of the number of towers to avoid high modes loss, reflecting the dynamic characteristics; When the structural arrangement of regular shape can be estimated the period value by empirical formula, when the structural arrangement of irregular shape shall be calculated the period value.In the linear range, the spectral analysis and dynamic time history analysis of the structure has been done under frequently earthquake. the results of two methods indicate the same general trend, the results of response spectrum methods were broken , which may set out to reflects the maximal value of numerieal model.the maximal displacement of the heshi pagoda of Famen Temple occurs at the bend round and roof tops ,the inter-story displacement maximal angle occurs at bending mutation,there are two weakest parts at the bend round and roof tops along Twin Towers . When theⅡ~Ⅳcategory class change from hard to weakness, there is a distinct increase trend of tower structure with seismic force, displacement and inter-story displacement angle under earthquake, it indicates more obvious enlargement in weakness field, which reflects more significant effect of the seismic function.In the elastic-plastic range,tower structure would be studied with push-over static analytical method. the plastic hinge distribution, weakest parts and failure modes of all structural members from elastic parts→cracking parts→yield parts→destruction in the whole process, the sequence of plastic hinges were:wrist bending department→the roof tops→palm and back of the lower parts→the bottom of the perimeter columns→four corner cylinders→palm and upper back of the hand.The first limits state department of twin towers was 44m wrist bending structure. the seismic capacity of this structure would be evaluated with the capacity spectrum method.Structural demand spectrum curve of different ductility coefficient can cross the capacity spectrum curves, indicating that the structure has good seismic capacity.
