In this paper, we designed a remote irrigation system based on the technology of Internet of things. Firstly, we focused on soil moisture, light intensity and the relative humidity design different filter algorithms so that the data collected is stable and reliable. Secondly, we used FDR Frequency Domain Reflectometry technology research to achieve miniature soil moisture sensor from the underlying hardware design; the use of the photoresistor as a sensing element constructed circuit, and after calibration to realize the low cost of light intensity sensor. Thirdly, we studied an adaptive watering control algorithm which is using genetic algorithm online dynamic adjust PID control parameters, and based networking technology designed and developed a prototype irrigation system can be remotely controlled. The system can use the phone remotely set the desired plant soil moisture, and by a preset algorithm automatically control soil moisture, and the phone can be real-time monitoring soil moisture, light intensity, air temperature and relative humidity of the measurement region.Environmental parameters acquisition and central controller of the system is used 2.4 GHz wireless communication mode to work together, and the environmental parameters acquisition in accordance with ultra-low power consumption, low cost, miniaturization of the goal to design, it is possible to achieve multi-point acquisition within the target area to be irrigated. Central controller receives the collector returned multiple sets of data, after analysis excluded a large error data, the environmental parameters packed and sent to the cloud server, and receives control parameters from the server to drive the irrigation device. Through laboratory tests, we obtained a more ideal soil moisture control performance compared with the existing irrigation systems, with easy installation, low cost and scalability advantages.
