Ninety piglets weaned at age of 28 day(Duroc X Landrace X Yorkshire) were randomly assigned to five treatments. There were three replicates pens per treatment with six pigs per replicate (male:female=1:1). All pigs had been fed and watered freely during five-week trial period. The first treatment(control group) were fed common corn-soybean meal diet. The second treatment pigs were fed 0. 6%, 0. 4%, 0. 2%, 0. 1%, 0. 05%Bio-Mos after weaning the first, second, third, fourth and fifth week. The third and fourth treatment pigs were fed 0. 2% or 0. 1% Bio-Mos , the fifth treatment were fed 0. 05% Bio-Mos + 3 mg/kg Flavomycin. In order to study the effect of its supplementation on the intestinal microflora, immunity function and peformance of weaning piglets. Results suggested: (1) There were significant improvement on ADG and the incidence of diarrhea(P<0. 05) ; no significant improvemen on FI and Feed/Gain(P>0.05) when diets were supplemented Bio-Mos. (2) Compared to control group, Pigs fed Bio-Mos had significantly dereased the concentration of E. coli, suppressed another pathogenic bacteria growth in gut. Bio-Mos supplementation in treatment 2 and 3 had significant improvement on the concentration of Bifidobacterium in colon caecum and rectum(P<0.05). 0.1% Bio-Mos level of the diet significantly improved the concentration of Bifidobacterium in colon and rectum(P<0. 05), not in caecum(P>0. 05). Different level of Bio-Mos in diet and different methods of the addition had no significant improvement onconcentration of lactobacilli in colon (P>0.05) ;but there were no same effect of all treatments on concentration of lactobacilli in caecum and rectum. (3) Compared to control group, Bio~Mos had no significant improvement on the concentration of serum SFD antibody, IgA and IgM(P>0. 05), but it had significant improvement on concentration of serum IgG(P<0. 05). (4) Seen from the results of the trial, there were certain relative between Bio~Mos and Flavomycin when they were added in piglets feed together, but their effects on piglets were smaller than ones of Bio-Mos.Author: Zhou Hongli(Animal Nutrition & Feed Science) Directed by Associate Professor: Zhang Shirui...
