The grain-filling characteristics of liangyoupe~iu were studied from the volume swell rate and weight of the fertilizered ovary, and the effect on the grain-filling about altering the proportion of source-sink at early heading stage. The senescetive process of root and leaves, and the effect on the growth of temperature and soil moisture during productive phase were analysed and compared. The results showed that:(1)The order of flowering significantly correlated with the swell rate of the volume of the fertilize ovary, the grain pumpness and the average grain weight. The swell rate of the volume of the fertilized ovary and the grain dry weight, the average grain weight and pumpness of Iiangyoupejjiu were slower or lower than those of shanyou63.(2)On the dynamic of grains weight, vigor grains of Iiangyoupeijiu had an obvious superiority, especially on the potential of initiation filling, but the weak grain were much inferior, when compared with the control.(3)Altering the proportion of source-sink at early heading stage could markedly affect the filling rate, pumpness and weight of the grains through changes in the swell rate of the fertilized ovary of weak grains. Applying grain fertilizer or removed half spikelets can significantly increased the pumpness of grain and the grain weight, but the results were reversed after cutting leaves.(4)On the physiology activity of root, liangyoupeqiu showed distinctively earlier senescence than the controls, but its leaves senesced slower than5shanyou63. The leaves of liangyoupeqiu senescenced earlier and rapider than roots.(5)Lower temperature at 18C for 4 days and moderation water-stress after 20 days from the full heading could not induce the leaf senescence, but were favourable to maintenance its green. Lower temperature could significantly reduce seed-setting percentage ,1000-grain weight and pump-grain percentage, but the effect of water-stress was not significant. The difference of chalky rice rate(CRR) between normal temperature and lower temperature was significant, the effect of temperature and water-stress on other quality characters ofIiangyoupejjiu was not significant.
