In order to evaluate the mechanism of the superovulation and make full use of the ovary eggs, the ovary antral follicles, morphology of the eggs and their following developmental capacity were observed by employing the experimental mice. The results showed as follows: 1. Comparison on the dynamic patterns of ovarian antral follicle between estrous and superovulated rat Antral follicles were counted in ovaries from young adult KM white rats of estrous and superovulated rats. The ovaries of the estrous rats were collected on the 5 days of the ovarian cycle, as the superovulated rats?ovaries were collected after the injection of hCG at different time. All follicles were classified as healthy, early atretic or late atretic and divided into four volume classes. From these data, two patterns were developed in which the follicles were continuous inflow of healthy follicles into various size classes was quantified. The result indicated that not only the inflow of the estrous rat抯 follicles but also the superovulated rat抯 was continuous but not constant. 2. Effects of the chronology and morphology on the developmental capacity of the oocytes Mice oocytes were collected and divided into three classcs: with first polar body, without first polar body or with degenerate first polar body after injection of hCG 12h, l4h, 16h respectively. By parthenogenesis and IVF, the eggs developmental capacity were observed The results indicate that the activating rates were increased with the age of the egg, and those with and with degenerated first polar bodies?activating rate were higher than those without first polar body. IVF experiments demonstrate that there is no 3 difference among different aging eggs, however their following developmental capacity was different. 3. Study on the morphology and developmental capacity among oocytes superovulated at different stages of the estrous cycle The present work was carried out to comparate the quality and quantity among oocytes superovulated at different stages of the estrous cycle. By using fertilization technique in vivo and vitro, we conclude: superovulation treated in metestrous and estrous could produce more normal embryos than di-estrous and pro-estrous.
