RAPD markers of five populations ,Aerbasi ,Alashan ,Erlangshan ,Wuzhumuqin and Liaoning cashmere goats were analyzed using Shannon index and Nei index respectively .Showing the results as follow: (1) Among 64 allele loci detected using out-screened 12 random primers, 33 were polymorphic and the average percentage of was 51.56%, which showed the RAPD was an effective marker for cashmere goats nucleus DNA genetic and variation .The number of polymorphic loci Amplified using SI59 was the most among that done using 12 random primers, and the result was the best. Its sequence is 5' ACGGCGTATG3' .(2) The average index of genetic polymorphism of general populations (Hsp) was 0.475 , and the genetic diversity percentage within populations was 67.43% , which demonstrated the variation was bigger within populations than among populations .(3) The genetic diversity index within Liaoning cashmere and Aerbasi cashmere goat was low, which was in accord with their breeding results. While the genetic diversity index within Wuzhumuqin cashmere goat was the highest, which indicated its identification was relatively worse.(4)It was demonstrated, by genetic distance index and molecular cluster among five populations, that the genetic differentiation of Aerbasi, Erlangshan,Liaoning cashmere goats was not distinctive .Wuzhumuqin grouped with Aerbasi, Erlangshan, Liaoning cashmere goats, which indicated the affinity between Wuzhumuqin cashmere goat and the other three groups was close, while those four groups was distant with liaoningfuxian cashmere goat.
