Changbai mountain range is the major place of Ginseng and American ginseng yield. As valuable herb, ginseng and american ginseng have magical efficacy. But the disease of root rust rot distributes all of the ginseng field, decreases ginseng's quality and quantity, and restricts the development of ginseng industry. 12 Cylindrocarpon isolates are separated from diseased ginseng and american ginseng, which collects from Changbai mountain range. These isolates are researched on their morphology, pathogenicity, biological characters, esterase-PAGE and inhibition experiment. These results will help us to more comprehend the pathogen of ginseng root rust rot disease and guide us to control it. On pathogen studies, the morphological characteristics of each species are extensively observed. Measurements, descriptions, light microscope photographs and figures of important morphological characters are given. The comparison is made among each species, their related species and the original descriptions. In result, these isolates can be classified to four tapes:?Cylindrocarpon destmctans (Zinss) Scholton Cylindrocarpon panacicola (Zinss)Zha et Zhu Cylindrocarpon panacis Matuo et Miyazawa Cylindrocarpon obtusisporum (Cooke&Harkness)WollenwThe virulent test results show that these isolates all have lethal action, and pathogenicities of Cylindrocarpon destmctans and Cylindrocarpon panacis are stronger than Cylindrocarpon panacicola and Cylindrocarpon obtusisponim.On biological character studies, these relations are researched between 12 isolates and condition that including temperature, humidity, pH, light and nutrition. It is found that the isolates can grew well in 20~~25C, pH6, RH100%On electrophoresis studies, the esterase-PAGE is done on 12 isolates and comparable Fusarium oxysporum f. sp.cucumerinum.Owen. Their esterase-116-zones are analyzed to auxiliary classification. It is shown that these isolates have three types esterase zones.On cluster analysis, the conidia size and Chlamydospores Diameter are used to conduct the hierarchical cluster analysis. Based of the results, phylogenetic relationships are analyzed among 12 isolates. The phylogeny among 12 isolates is revealed by a dendrogram on similarity coefficients.On the inhibition experiment to 12 isolates, 30% soil sterilization and two organismic fungicides, Taizhu and Kaidi, are selected. It's show that these medications have inhibition.In this dissertation, the biological characters of several Cylindrocaron species on ginseng and their comparison are first researches. At the same time, the techniques of esterase-PAGE are first put in use of researching Cylindrocaron on ginseng. Furthermore, It has done to seeking effective fungicides in this paper.
