| This paper consisted of four experiments. The purpose of this study was designed to study the nutrition value and application of quality protein maize (QPM) in laying hen diet, and provided reference for its application in layer prudoction.Experiment I. Determination on metabolizable energy values of quality protein maizeThis experiment was carried out to determinate the metabolizable energy values of quality protein maize (QPM) and normal corn (NC). 16 Hy-line Brown adult roosters of 400-day-old were randomly divided into 2 treatments of 4 replicates each. The main results were summarized as follows.Gross energy (GE) of QPM and NC were 18.80MJ/kg and 18.85MJ/kg, respectively. AME and AMEn of QPM were higher than those of NC (P>0.10). TME value of QPM and NC were 16.29 MJ/kg and 16.30 MJ/kg respectively (P>0.10).Metabolic rate of GE, AME, AMEn, TME and TMEn in QPM were higher than those of NC, their values were 77.26% and 76.45%, 77.74% and 76.89%, 86.81% and 86.50%, 86.53% and 86.26%, respectively (P>0.1).These indicate that there was no significant difference in the energy utilization between QPMandNC(P>0.1). |
