| With rye cultivar AR71 as the source of resistance to wheat sharp eyespot (Rhizoctonia cerealis),we tried to transfer the rye resistant genes into eight wheat cultivars or lines by pollen tube pathway(PTP)method and intergeneric crossing between wheat and rye.The results we obtained are the following:1. When transferred the DNA of resistant donors, Lumai No.K shaan 229> Bainong3217 and Chinese Sring Phlb CS-Phlb mutant,showed morphologically different variations.The morphological variation of the receptor wheat plant includes growth characteristics during seedling stage, plant height, awn length and ear length. Such morphological variation ranged from 1.2 -5.7%2. A mutant plant from the crossing combination between CS-phlb and AR71 by FTP method showed an increased resistance to sharp eyespot. And its disease index (DI)(approx.66.2) is significantly lower than that(approx.77.30).of its parent CS-pblb.3.Under the condition of open pollination ,the FI plants derived from the crossing between rye AR71 and wheat lines Lumai No.l,Youla, Bainong3217, et al, can be self-crossed to produce fertile seed. The seed set frequencies ranged from 0.001% to 0.184%.The chromosome number of F2 plant root tip varied from 39 to 56.4 In the Fa progeny of wheat *AR7l, Some plants showed higher alien translocation frenquencies. Especially for the plant No.229-3,there were three alien translocations.5.From the plants of Turgitum TG29xRye AR71 offsping, we obtained one plant with relatively lower disease index.(DI) than that of its parents. This suggested that by gene acceleration, wheat lines tested had the increased resistance to wheat sharp eyespot. |
