1. Quercus liaotungensis seedlings were obtained by seeds in pots in greenhouse. The ectomycorrhizal formation of Q. liaotungensis were studied through ectomycorrhizal fungi including Gomphidius viscidus, Russula foetens, Suillus grevillei, S. luteus, Pisolithus tinctorius, Boletus edulis, Cortinarius russus and Cenococcwn geophilum. The ectomycorrhizal roots were observed on the seedlings inoculated by G. viscidus, R. foetens, S. grevillei, S. luteus, P. tinctorius, B. edulis, nor on the seedling inoculated by C. russus and C. geophilum after inoculating for two months. In ectomycorrhizal tissue section, clear Hartig net were showed in the intercellular space of cortical cells of fine roots, which proved the symbiosis relationship between these 6 species of ectomycorrhizal fungi and seedlings of Q. liaotungensis.2. The physiological effects of ectomycorrhizal on Q. liaotungensis seedlings was observed after G. viscidus and R. foetens were inoculated. The ectomycorrhizal apparently helped the promotion of the height, biomass and photosynthesis of Q. liaotungensis seedlings. The effects of the inoculation by the admixture of the two ectomycorrhizal fungi was superior to that of inoculation by any fungus alone, furthermore, the effect of the inoculation of admixture by equal quantity appeared to be optimal.
