The study includes two experiments: (1) the study of peanut cultivars at different source and sink ratio; (2)the study of the effect of different source and sink ratio on peanut after man changing. It is in order to find out what a role the ratio of source and sink plays in peanut yield. The main results are as follows:1. The Physiological and Biological Reason for High Yield of the New Peanut Cultivar Peanut yield is constrained by source, and source plays main role in producing yield. But different peanut cultivars have different the ratio of source and sink. Huayu17 has strong sink and weak source; Luhua11 has strong source and weak sink; Fenghua1 has strong source and strong sink. Much physiological character, for example chlorophyll content and LAI, of fenghua1 is prior to huayu17in lifetime. and fenghua1 can keep many green leaves in late period. At the same time, SOD activity,POD activity and CAT activity in fenghua1 leaf are higher than that of Huayu17, but lower than that of Luhua11. So the ability of Fenghua1 producing dry matter is strong, and Fenghua1 produces much more dry matter than Huayu17. Accordingly, fenghua1 partitions much to pod. Then fenghua1 achieves higher economic yield than luhua11 and huayu17.2 The Effect of Reducing Source The source of fenghua1 gets small after picking 50% leaves. Although many new leaves come out, they can't compensate the influence of picking 50% leaves. Then the plant has strong sink and weak source after 50% leaves are picked.After 50% leaves are picked, pod sink becomes larger and needs more photosynthetic production. Then the load of leaf gets heavy, and the senescence of leaf is accelerated. Some physiological characters, for example chlorophyll content,photosynthetic rate and LAI, is influenced. It keeps few green leaves in late period. and the activity of SOD,POD and CAT is lower than that of control, but MDA content is higher than that of control. Then the ability of source to produce dry matter gets small, and the accumulation of dry matter becomes little, and the partition of dry matter to pod is little too. Thus the mature pod number per plant reduces, and yong pod number increases. All above those make biomass yield and economic yield lower than that of control.3 The Effect of Reducing Sink Pod sink becomes smaller and photosynthetic source becomes stronger than those of control after 50% pegs are cut. Thus the plant has strong source and weak sink. After 50% pegs cutting, pod sink decreases and needs little photosynthetic production, then lighten the load of source. The source gets strong conversely, and its chlorophyll content,photosynthetic rate and LAI are higher than those of control. It also keeps more green leaves. SOD activity,POD activity and CAT activity in its leaves are higher than that of control, but its MDA content is lower than that of control. Then the ability of source to produce dry matter gets strong, and the plant accumulates much more dry matter, and partitions much dry matter to pod in late time. Thus the mature pod number per plant increases, and yong pod number decreases. All above those make biomass yield and economic yield heavier than that of control.
