Mongolian pine(Pinus slyvestris L. var. mongolica)is one of the main conifer species to recover the vegetation of Inner Mongolia arid and semi-arid areas. In this paper, the mycorrhizae synthesis between Mongolian pine and Suillus-96, Suillus-99, Suillus-00, Pisolithus tinctorius, Cenococcum geophilwn was studied under aseptic and pot culture conditions. The results showed that Suillus-96, Suillus-99, Suillus-00 most probably belonged to one ectomycorrhizal fungus species, and the rapid mycorrhizal formation produced strong stimulation on seedlings growth. There was a statistic significant difference between suillus spp. inoculated and controlled seedlings in height growth radial growth>and dry biomass accumulation, especially the increasing of dry biomass for the inoculated seedlings was 2-3 times higher than that of the controlled ones. So suillus spp. should give priority to the selection of most performance strains for Mongolian pine mycorrhizal application. The result of the experiments on the impact of medium water content to mycorrhizal formation had proved that Cg possesses high drought-resistant ability. It could promote the growth of Mongolian pine seedlings under low medium water content, which was improper for Mongolian pine to grow regularly. Moreover, Suillus spp. did not form the mycorrhizal association under low water content. However inoculation showed positive growth effect on young seedlings.
