Records on 765 Duroc for repoduction traits and production traits made between 1997 and 2001 in duroc nucleus herd in Tianxin Swine Breeding Center were used to estimate additive genetic(animal),matermal genetic.matermal permanent environmental,common liteer,and residual variance and cocariance.Genetic parameters were estimated using MTDFREML applied to a multivariate individual animal model with fixed effects of herd-year-season-parity or herd-year-season-sex and random effects of animal(additive direct genetic),additive maternal genetic,maternal permanent environmental,common litter.and residual.The genetic trends of the main economic traits were analyzed.The studied main economic traits included number of piglets born alive(NBA),litter weight born(LBW),number of piglets at 21d(S21),litter weight at 21d(LW21),litter weight at weaning(LW30),number of piglets at weaning(S30),weight of 60d(W60),weight of 120dW120),body length of 120d(BL120),chest girth of 120d(CG120),adominal girth of 120 d(AG120),hip girth of 120d(HGl20),circumference of leg of 120d(CL120), withers height of 120 d(WH120), weight of 180d(W180),body length of 180d(BL180),chest girth of 180d(CGl80),adominal girth of 180d(AG180),hip girth of 180d(HG 180), circumference of leg of 180 d(CL180),withers height of 180d(WH180),average daily gain(ADG),backfat depth adjusted to 180d(BF).Heritabilities for NBA, LBW, S21, LW21, LW30, S30, W60, W120, BL120, CG120, HG120,CL120,WH120,W180,BL180,CG180,HG180,CL180,WH180,ADG and BF were . 0. 12,0. 12,0.2 1,0. 1 1,0. 10,0. 16,0. 1 1,0.57,0.43,0. 12,0.30,0.71,0.23,0.52,0.53,0.80,0.05,0.47,0. 33, 0 .34,03 1, respectively.Additive maternal genetic effects were 0.01,0.02,0.05,0.02,0.00 and 0.03 for NBA, LBW,S21,LW21,LW30,S30;correlation between additive direct genetic and additive maternal genetic effect were -0.34,-0.49,-0.83,-1.00,-0.11,-1.00,respevtively.maternal permanent environmental effects were 0.0697, 0.1067, 0.0057, 0.0353, 0.0189, 0.0105; Common litter environment effects were 0.30× 10-3, 0.34×10-4, 0.25×10-3 , 0.23×10-3, 0.10×10-7,0.12×10-2,0.0212,0.1480,0.0533,0.2055,0.0528,0.1567,0.075,0.0258,0.2755,0.05 20,0.0290,0.0468,0.0514,0.0131,0.0608 for NBA, LBW, S21, LW21, LW30, S30, W60, W120,BL120,CG120,HG120,CL120,WH120,W180,BL180,CG180,HG180,CL180,WH180 ,ADG,BF.Genetic correlations for NBA/LEW, NBA/LW21, NBA/LW30, LBW/LW21, LBW/ LW30,W180/BF,W180/ADG,ADG/BF,BL120/BL180,HG120/HG180,WH120AVH180 were0.82,0.42,0.39,0.81,0.76,0.91,0.55,-0.09,0.43J0.76,0.66,respectively.Genetic trends (97-0 l)of reproductive traits were dispostive,Genetic trends are 0.0044,-0.0055,-0.0126,-0.0359,-0.0088forNBA,LBW,LW21,LW30,S30,respectively.Genetic trends of the productive traits respectively are 0.0122,0.0687,0.2622,-0.0067 for W120,W180,ADG,BF,respectively.
