This paper presents the estimates of variance components and genetic parameters for growth traits,slaughter traits and reproduction traits of pekin duck using animal model by derivative-free restricted maximum likelihood. The fixed effects,animal additive genetic effects and maternal effects were calculated. The genetic trend and maternal trend of the main traits by every generation were analyzed.The result were abstract below.1 The heritabalities of main quantitive traits in pekin duck:The integrative heritabalities(1- he2)of the early body weight and day increase weight traits were high relatively.The additive heritability of the early body weight and day increase weight had increased trend,but maternal heritability and addition-maternal effect correlations of the early body weight had minishing trend.Among the heritabilities of slaughter traits,the integrative heritabilities of other traits were high except the integrative heritabilities of abdomen fat weight and slaughter percent. The additive effect and maternal effect were restrained one another.The integrative heritabilities of egg traits were among but low a little the heritabalities estimated by others.The maternal effect of egg traits in pekin duck were less relatively. The additive effect and maternal effect were restrained one another.2 The correlations of main quantitive traits in pekin duck The phonetypic and genetic correlations of early body weight and day increase weight traits were high and were positive.The genetic and phonetypic correlations exsisted between leg meat percent and the other traits were negative at the level of middling or below middling excepting leg meat percent and abdomen fat percent.The The genetic and phonetypic correlations among the other traits were positive.This indicate that improving body weight was in favor of the improvement of bosom meat percent;improving bosom meat percent could form muscle type pekin duck; improving leg meat percent and abdomen fat percent could form fat type pekin duck.Among the correlation of slaughter traits,the genetic and phonetypic correlation of body weight and egg weight in laying period was positive at some degree.The genetic and phonetypic correlations between different egg numbers were positive clearly. 3 The genetic effect and matermal effect trend of the main quantitive traits in pekin duck:The genetic effect trend of 1,2,3,4 week body weight and 7-14,7-21 and 7-28 day increase weight were moved up,but not remarkable.The genetic effect trend of body weight5,6 week and 7-35,7-42 and 7-49 day increase weight were descended. The matermal effect trend were reversed to genetic effect trend basicly.Among the genetic and matermal effect trend of the slaughter traits in pekin duck,the genetic effect trend of leg meat weight and abdomen fat percent were ascended,but not clear. The genetic effect trend of the other traits were descended. The matermal effect trend were reversed to genetic effect trend basicly.The genetic and matermal effect trend of the egg traits in pekin duck The genetic effect trend of several egg traits were ascended. But the genetic effect trend of first egg body weight and 35 week body weight were descended from 1 generation to 2 generation but were ascended since 2 generation. The genetic effect trend of egg weight was descended. The matermal effect trend were reversed to genetic effect trend basicly.These indicated that selection for egg number were effective,but not remarkable.
