Study And Establishment Of Technical Regulations For Cultivation And Quality Ministerial Standards Of Potted Poinsettia

In this paper , the history , development , especially the status quo of potted poinsettia(Euphorbia pulcherrima Wild. ex Klotzsch) production , trade, consumption were explored. The social factors and basic quality factors including growth habits, color, size, maintenance, the size of cyathium, force crop qualitity, transportation and storage, pests and insects, which effect the qualities of potted poinsettia were analyzed. Every tache of the chains of poinsettia industry influences the qualities in poinsettia. The factors , such as varieties , environmental factors of cultivation, marketing etc:, which influence the qualities of poinsettia were discussed, as well as consenescence of poinsettia was expatiated upon.The standards of flowering pot plants especially poinsettia for Europe, US, mailand and Taiwan province of China are evaluated. Although there are no established basis for grading, the plants are priced according to the size of the container, number of blooms per pot, size, color and conditions of bracts and overall appearance or form of plants. But subjective evaluations account for a good 梥ized proportion, affect the objectivity of the quality evaluations .In addition, the potted poinsettia was sorted by the size and the form of cultivation, and Qualification of overall appearance was also done. Quality evaluations and examinations of potted poinsettia are founded. Advanced foreign standards were cited. Considering pot plants are fresh and valuable products, when evaluation and examinations, sample should be as small as possible. At the same time, the technical regulation for cultivation of potted poinsettia was established, and standardlization of flower indestry was discussed.
