Black mineral soil was amended by additing organic matter and sulphur in field and in pot.The effect of soil amendments (elements S,moss,peat,sawdust,sand,stillage) incorporation on plant growth.leaf photosynthesis,nutrient uptake,root actively and mycorrhizal infection of 'Blueecrop', 'Northland' and 'Stclouds'blueberries were studies The result showed that moss and peat were superior to sawdust,sand and stillage in ameliorating soil properties and stimulating plant growth.Moreover,high soil pH which restrains plant growth was the largest restrictive factors.The reason which organic materials and sulfur influences on plant growth and physiological mechanism is likely to had following several aspect:(1)S powder can significantly decrease soil pH.It is an effective method that S powder adjusting soil acidity .moreover, 1.5-2.0kgS.m-3 can decrease soil pH from7.0 to 4.0-5.5-However, different blueberry cultivars had respectively optimum pH range.The study showed that optimum pH range of 'Bluecrop' was 3.0-5.5, 'St.cloud' was 4.5-6.0.Although soil pH decrease with a concomitant increase of elemental S,the change of soil pH had not linear regularity,and soil soulble salty content had been increased.The excessive salts content probably restrians plant growth.(2)Organic materials can ameliorates soil propeties.First,they can decrease soil pH.The result(pot)showed that soil pH is likely to be decereaed from 7.0 to 5.5 in all treatments addition of organic materials and lkgS.m~3.For the treatment added moss and peat, soil pH decrease from 7.0 to 5.0,sawdust treatment decrease from 7.0 to 5.8.For the sand treatment, soil pH has not been obvious change.Secondly.soil organic matter content were increased by addition of various amengments.For the treatment added peat and sawdust,soil organic matter content increase 520.9%(pot) and 224.3%(field) as compared with control treatment.incerase 342.3%(pot) and 226.5%(field)in peat treatment ,and incerease 268.3%(pot) and 142.1%(field) in mosstreatment.The treatment of added sand or only S,soil matter content had been affected.Thirdly, soil soluble salt content were significant increased by addition of organic materials especially the treatment added peat, soil salt content was 6.0%,moss treatment was 2.7%.(3)The effects which different organic materials stimulate plant growth .nutrient uptake and root growth had significant diffrence,and the performance were different in pot and in field.The result(pot)showed that plant height of Bi(moss),B2(peat) and B6(moss+peat) treatments of 'Bluecrop' were respectively 318.2%,272.7% and 299.2% in contrast to control treatment.Furthermore,leaf area,dry weight of 100 leaves,chlorophyll content in leaves and pure photosynthesis rates were significant higher than those treated with sawdust,sand and stillage.(4)Under the condition of enough soil organic matter,optimum sulfur could stimulates plant growth.For example,plant height of 'Bluecrop'addition of 2kgS and IkgS treatment were respectively 188.7% and 246.1% in contrast to control treatment.(5)Organic materials and sulfur changed content of soil mineral element which influence leaves absorption in various mineral element.The result (pot)showed that soil N,P,Fe,Cu,Zn,Mn content were higher in treatment added moss,soil K,Ca content were lower.For the treatment added peat,soil N,P,Mg,Mn,were higher.soil K,Ca.Fe,Cu,Zn were lower than control.For the treatment added stillage.soil various mineral element content were higher than control,especially the soil N and Mn content were more higher than other treatment. Because the different soil mineral elements influence leaf nutrient uptake,plant growth and physiological mechanism was affected.(6)Study also showed that there was repectively dificiency using a organic material lonely ,while mixing of organic materials could obtain good result.For example,Plant height of 'northland' added moss and peat was respectively higher 118.8% and 162.0% than moss or peat-alone.Root activity in the peat and sand treatment was higher 120.2% as comp...
